The market is shifting from “more designs in the folder” toward better-curated finishes that are easier for customers, carpenters and designers to visualise and select.
Current data supports that shift. India’s organised modular-interiors market is moving away from uniformly glossy surfaces: an India Interior Trend Report cited by Sourcing Hardware says matte and suede textures now account for nearly 59% of the decorative laminate texture market, while laminates represent about 53% of the organised modular surface market.
At the same time, 2026 laminate trend reporting consistently points toward natural woodgrains, synchronised textures, matte/suede surfaces, fluted or linear effects, stone-inspired looks and warmer earth tones. Natural oak, walnut and teak remain especially resilient, while synchronised grain is increasingly used to give premium furniture a more veneer-like visual and tactile character. Beryx Laminates
The festive-demand backdrop is equally interesting. Datum Intelligence forecasts India's 2026 festive season at roughly ₹1.50–1.55 lakh crore, up 25–29%, but says growth is being driven mainly by more orders rather than larger baskets. In other words, customers are buying, but they remain value-conscious. Datum Intelligence Current retail reporting also shows premium categories performing strongly even while shoppers scrutinise price and utility more carefully.
