Ahmedabad, May 26, 2025 — In a decisive move to counter rising operational challenges, the Gujarat Plywood & Veneers Manufacturers Association (GPVMA) has announced an immediate 5% price increase on Block Boards, Plywood, and Flush Doors. The announcement was made via an official circular addressed to all members and dealers of the association.
The GPVMA cited a “significant shortage of labour” and “a sharp increase in the cost of raw materials” such as core veneer, timber, and resin as the primary reasons for this price revision. According to the association, these factors have collectively led to reduced production and an overall strain on industry operations.
“In light of these circumstances, the GPVMA Committee has unanimously decided to implement a 5% price increase on Block Boards, Plywood, and Flush Doors with immediate effect,” the notice stated.
The association has urged all dealers to honour and support the price adjustment, emphasizing that the move is vital for the industry’s long-term sustainability and survival amidst escalating costs.
This price hike marks a significant step as the plywood and veneer industry grapples with economic pressures and supply chain constraints, and it is expected to have a noticeable impact across construction and furniture sectors reliant on these materials.
